2026 Programs

Unless otherwise announced, all meetings begin at 10 a.m. on the fourth Saturday of the month. Some meetings will be held via Zoom, but most will be in person. In-person meetings are usually held at the Warrenville Public Library (28W751 Stafford Pl., Warrenville, IL 60555), but verify the program location before coming. Members will receive Zoom information and up-to-date location information in the newsletter.

January 24, 2026—Plying and finishing techniques. Instructor: Patsy Zawistoski. Via Zoom.

February 28, 2026—Park and draft with the drop spindle. Leader: Staci Lockman

March 28, 2026—Spinning stable singles. Leader: Heavenly Bresser

April 17–19, 2026—Spinning retreat at Camp Emmaus in Mount Morris, IL

May 16, 2026—Making Sculpey buttons. Leader: Mary Wells. Third Saturday to avoid Memorial Day weekend.

June 27, 2026—Shifu (spinning paper). Leader: Mary Wells. Held at a member's home

July 2026—No meeting

August 22, 2026—Beehive yarn. Instructor: Charan Sachar. Via Zoom. You will need combed top (Falkland, Targhee, or Corriedale are suggested), plus a strong, fine yarn for plying, such as 8/2 cotton weaving yarn or a two-ply lace weight yarn.

September 26, 2026—Spinning silk hankies (mawata). Leader: Jeanne DeVore

October 24, 2026—Potluck lunch at a member's home

November 21, 2026—2027 program planning/brainstorming, plus our annual Show and Tell prize drawing. Third Saturday to avoid Thanksgiving weekend.

December 2026—No meeting
