2016 Programs

Unless otherwise indicated, all meetings begin at 10 a.m. and will be held at the Warren Tavern (3S540 Second Street, Warrenville, IL 60555).

January 23 — Choosing a used wheel, plus a round robin so that we can try various wheels. Bring a spinning wheel that you’re willing to let others try and some fiber. Program leader: Sue Gibson.

February 27 — How to spin a braid, plus blending with a board. Program leader: Isis Perez.

March 19 — Breed study: Columbia fleece. Program leader: Mickey Anderson. Third Saturday to avoid Easter weekend.

April 23 — Solving Spinning Challenges. A sharing session; bring your spinning problems with a fiber or tool, and we'll brainstorm solutions. (The originally scheduled program on "A Fleece for Every Project" will be rescheduled due to iillness.)

May 21 — Field trip to Old World Wisconsin. Organizer: Pat Lamesch. Third Saturday to avoid Memorial Day weekend.

June 3–5 — Annual retreat at Camp Emmaus in Mt. Morris, IL. $50.00 for two nights lodging; food not included. You may also come for just Saturday, June 4, for $6.00. Registration and payment are due by May 6 if you're coming for the entire retreat. The flyer with registration form was sent with the March and April newsletters. Organizer: Sherry Johnson.

June 11 — Spin to weave. Instructor: Heather Winslow. Rescheduled due to the snowstorm on Nov. 21, 2015. Second Saturday to accommodate Heather’s teaching schedule.

July — No meeting

August — No meeting

September 24 — Rug hooking with yarn. Program leader: Viola Manning.

October 22 — Annual planning meeting and potluck lunch at a member's home.

November 19 — Hairpin lace. Program leader: Mary Wells. Third Saturday to avoid Thanksgiving weekend.
